Training of embroidery designs in Warangal. Published in Telgu daily "Suryam" on 27 August, 2008

Under the umbrella of Tharuni (NGO) and Media Lab Asia, young girls were given practical training on embroidery design using CHIC software developed by Media Lab Asia.The session was held at Malkapur village, station Ghanpur Mandal, Warangal District, Andhra Pradesh.Shri Vishnu Deo Tiwari, Research Scientist, Media Lab Asia (An organisation of DIT, Ministry of Information Technology) has imparted the training. In the context he said “In a modern society, we are training on embroidery design by easier by exploiting ICT’s. He further said this training will improve employment opportunities as well as for girls.

Dr. Mamtha Raghuveer, director of Tharuni also informed that the organization is giving training regularly for embroidery. In addition it is giving training on making chalk pieces, incense sticks, candles, surf, phenol and photo lamination. In this programme Sh. Mohan Reddy, eSagu administrator; Raja Reddy, computer operator, Suraiya and Umapathi and MD. Wali Shasha coordinator of Tharuni also participated.
